Celebrate Freedom in Prescott!

4th of July weekend is here! There are so many ways to celebrate in beautiful Prescott! From the city’s oldest holiday tradition to a spectacular fireworks display downtown, you can show off your patriotic pride every day leading up to Independence Day at one of these fantastic community events!

 

 

130th Annual World’s Oldest Rodeo®

Dates: Wednesday, June 28th - Tuesday, July 4th

Times: Varies per date (see below)

Location: Prescott Rodeo Grounds (840 Rodeo Drive)

Cost: $12 to $25 per performance (based on seating).

Come to Prescott’s oldest and most beloved tradition presented by Prescott Frontier Days®, Inc. Every year since 1888, the rodeo has been held over 4th of July weekend. Come to one of 8 spectacular performances to see over 600 competitors compete in the Grand Entry, Wild Horse Race, Steer-Wrestling, Bareback Riding, Tie-Down Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, Team Roping, Women’s Barrel Racing, and Bull Riding. The schedule of performances is as follows:

Performance #3 | Friday, June 30th | 7:30 pm

Prescott Frontier Days® Inc. Rodeo Parade

 

Date: Saturday, July 1st

Time: 9:00 am

Location: Courthouse Plaza

Cost: FREE!

Find the perfect spot in beautiful downtown Prescott to see Arizona’s second largest parade! This year’s theme is “Legends Live Among Us” to celebrate the 130 years of rich western tradition in Prescott.

 

Prescott Downtown Fireworks

 

Date: Tuesday, July 4th

Time: 12:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Location: Mile High Middle School (300 South Granite Street)

Cost: $5 per person (general admission) | $10 per child for unlimited inflatables

Celebrate our nation’s independence with this fun, family event. Enjoy giant inflatables for the kids, live music, food vendors, beer garden, and so much more. Stick around for the spectacular fireworks show at 9:00 pm.

36th Annual Prescott Bluegrass Festival This Weekend!

Enjoy the 36th ​Annual Prescott Bluegrass Festival this weekend in beautiful Prescott! Historic Courthouse Plaza (120 South Cortez Street) will be filled with incredible traditional and contemporary bluegrass music on Saturday, June 24th, and Sunday, June 25th! Come see the best local and national bluegrass musicians as they jam out all around the plaza. Admission to this great annual festival is FREE!

Coming from out of town to enjoy the festival? Camping is available at nearby Prescott Mile High Middle School (300 South Granite Street). The campsite opens at noon on Thursday and closes at noon on Monday. It is available first come, first served.

Yavapai Classic Car Show

Date: Saturday, June 17th

Time: 8:00 am - 2:00 pm

Location: Mile High Middle School (300 South Granite Street, Prescott)

Bring your dad to admire some of the best classic and antique cars at this 17th annual car show. Enjoy delicious food, 50/50 raffle, prizes, and more. All proceeds benefit Meals on Wheels and Mile High Middle School PTA.

 

Walker Day

Date: Saturday, June 17th

Time: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Location: Walker Fire Department (4980 East Walker Road, Prescott)

With a delicious BBQ lunch, live rock n’ roll by Noteworthy, old fashioned Cake Walk, children’s games and face painting, and 3rd Annual Mountain Art Market, your whole family will have fun at this great annual event. Plus, this celebration benefits the local volunteer Walker Fire Protection Association!

 

Theater on the Green - Zeppapotapuss!!

Date: Saturday, June 17th

Time: 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Location: Prescott Valley Civic Center (7501 East Civic Circle, Prescott Valley)   

Celebrate dad at a FREE concert by Zeppapotapuss, a Led Zeppelin tribute band. Pack your blanket and dad’s favorite snacks and drinks as you enjoy fun, live music on rolling green lawns.   

 

Father's Day Jazz Splash

Date: Sunday, June 18th

Time: 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Location: Arcosanti (13555 South Cross L Road, Mayer)

Spend Father’s Day listening to some of the best live jazz available! Attend the Cabaret in the Lounge with Billy Mitchell Trio at 1:00 pm. You will also enjoy a Meet & Greet Buffet! There is also a concert in the Amphitheater at 3:00 pm with Milt Cannon Quartet and Yuko Mabuchi Trio. With fantastic jazz, delicious food, raffle prizes, and more, dad will love this fun, musical celebration.

See the best narrative, documentary, and short Films.  Have a blast at incredible Special Events including the Opening Night Film and Swing Dance, Senses Pop Up Gourmet Dinner, Que Syrah Syrah Wine Tasting Event, and Closing Film and Cabaret Party. Attend informative and fun Workshops that cover a range of topics for aspiring filmmakers and film buffs alike! The festival truly is an event that you do not want to miss! Check out the 2017 Program Booklet for all the information regarding dates and times of events and screenings as well as descriptions for all the films!

Film Screening and Event Locations

The Prescott Film Festival will be held on the Yavapai College campus (1100 East Sheldon Street). All film screenings and special events will take place at the Yavapai College Performing Arts Center. The free workshops will be held in Building 3, Room 119.
